Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo - 2011
If you've never been, the HLSR is like a HUGE fair meets a rodeo meets concert events.
Always a good excuse for a city slicker like myself to put on my cowboy boots and go enjoy all things country.
Thursday night some dear friends and I went to the Rodeo and saw the Zac Brown band in the concert that followed.
While I know that Zac Brown Band was not originally on my list of concerts to see before I turned 28, but the more I look at the tour schedules for Mumford and Sons, U2 and Coldplay, I've realized that those three are pretty unlikely. Zac Brown Band put on an excellent show. And the rodeo before it was a ton of fun too! This is the last weekend of the rodeo, so the events are now to qualify for the big money series this weekend. Thus, we saw really high quality rodeo. We also saw my new favorite rodeo event:

How can you not love this event?!?!?!?!?!? Stick a 5-6 year old weighing less than 60 lbs on a sheep and tell them to hang on for dear life. LOVE IT! Just watch a little bit of the video. I promise it will make you smile.
