One Week

Hawaii
Unbelievably it has been my home for one week now.
If you would have even mentioned to me two years ago that I would move here at the end of PA school, I would have told you that you were crazy.
I guess God has a way of bringing things into my life that I never could dream.
For all you sappy romantics out there like me, yes I do mean my handsome sailor, as well as a job that I'm excited to begin.

I don't have any pictures from my time here yet.
It's been the fairly ordinary moments of life when you move... unpacking, signing paperwork at HR, studying for my exam to get a Hawaii drivers license.
It's just all in the setting of Hawaii.
Honestly, how often is the HR office directly across the street from Waikiki beach?
Or do you see a tan, shirtless, shoeless gentleman walk into the Apple store with a large, LIVE blue parrot on either shoulder?

And then there was a stolen weekend...
When the boat schedule and my arrival schedule overlapped.
Since about Christmas, we knew that we were going to miss each other in Hawaii by a couple of weeks.
But then, two weeks before I arrived, the plan beautifully changed.
I had myself convinced that I wasn't going to see him til Saturday.
And consequently I crawled into bed at 9:30 pm Friday so that Saturday would come faster.
45 minutes after I had fallen asleep there was a soft knock at the door... and I opened it to see a handsome sailor in uniform.
My handsome sailor.
It was a wonderful weekend of just being together and catching up on life.
He made me feel so cherished and loved, helping me to get settled as much as he could in our short time together.
It was a gift.
Which I had to remind myself of time and time again as I dropped him off at the pier at 5:55am Monday morning with a pick up time TBD.
But that too is a gift.
This time, when he comes home, I will be here.
