The Drought

Oh my readers.... I am sorry for the blog drought.
I do have very valid excuses for my lack of posting.

1. Andrew is home!! He's been home for almost 2 weeks now and it's just been time filled with joy. After being apart for so much of our relationship, even the mundane feels extraordinary. There's been cuddling and TV watching and cooking and cleaning and grocery shopping and just talking and catching up on life. There been lots of talking and lots of laughter... and I couldn't ask for anything more.

2. Work last week... was intense. It was the perfect storm of overwhelmingly increased responsibility. Two of the other PAs were gone, my schedule was full for the first time, and they opened my schedule up so that now I have double the amount of patient appointment slots. All I can tell you to express the intensity of my work schedule, is that I'm now having nightmares about work. Nightmares where I forget to do something for a patient or forget to chart something or forget to write a prescription. And they're so realistic that I've woken up and signed online to check my patient charts to see if I saw that patient before. BUT I'm learning and adjusting and growing. And slowly, I'm turning into a confident, professional PA.

But there have been lots of fun things too:
- Dinner at BLT Steak, a fabulous restaurant at Trump Tower in Waikiki
- Memorial Day enchiladas (a definite recipe win) with Andrew, Karl and Ashley
- A tour of the U.S.S Columbus with the most handsome J.O. (seriously, I'm not bias). I so wish I could show you pictures... but taking pictures is forbidden. So I'll just tell you that going on a working submarine is just as cool as you'd think. The sleeping quarters are smaller than you think. To finally get to see the tiny rack where Andrew lives when he's gone... to see the ward room and command... and the torpedo just down the hall... and the door to engineering (my silly civilian self can't go in. It's top secret). It was just awesome. And I have to admit, Andrew is a most excellent tour guide.
- The first weekly Tuesday Funday! More to come on that tomorrow! (when we have the second installment!)

Tonight, I leave you with the beautiful flowers/plant that were waiting for me when I came home from work on Friday.
He sure knows how to make me smile.
